Why this site exists
Picking a color is easy. Picking a color that still has enough contrast for someone with low vision, and proving it, is where design work quietly fails accessibility review.
This site pairs a picker with the contrast math, so format conversion and the WCAG check happen in one place instead of across three tabs.
How the tool works
Conversions between hex, RGB, and HSL and the contrast ratio calculation all run in your browser. No image, value, or palette is uploaded.
Contrast ratios use the WCAG 2.1 relative luminance formula rather than a simplified approximation, because approximations pass swatches that real audits fail.
What accuracy means here
Ratios are reported to two decimals alongside the AA and AAA thresholds for both normal and large text, instead of a single pass/fail badge that hides which standard it was measured against.
